Marco: Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

When I was in fifth grade at Casselberry Elementary School, a bunch of teachers had their students group up and create a business. A month later, we had a flea market, and whoever makes the most money with the least amount of overhead wins. My Team Won!

While 2nd and 3rd place were making Scrunchies and baked goods, they had to pay for using the sewing machine or oven, for materials, for electricity, etc. My friends and I took a baseball, basketball, and football cards we had already opened. We added our personal collections and put 6 cards in a zip lock bag and promised that at least one card was awesome, and sure enough, we sold out! Been an entrepreneur, aka hustler ever since!

More recently, I covered Kanye West on October 5th, 2019, at The Gateway Center Salt Lake City Utah Sunday Service. October 5th, 2019, Salt Lake City Utah The Gateway Center during the LDS conference the Attorney General Sean D Reyes in attendance along with countless other dignitaries, celebrities, athletes, musicians, and more jumped on a plane with only a 24-hour notice to show up in presence!

Kanye West, an international recording artist, married to Kim Kardashian, leads over 7,000 in Salt Lake City, Utah, to pray against the devil during free outdoor Sunday service. Kanye West hosted one of his famous Sunday Service events in Salt Lake City over the weekend as the town at the same time held their Mormon LDS conference.

While there, he led the city in a spiritual warfare prayer against the devil and talked about the evils of social media, media, and serving multiple Gods.

“When you are serving multiple gods the God of your ego, the God of money, the God of pride, the God of fame, you see I am an artist, I’m creative, I am a chef, and I can only cook for one single God, I can only serve God! When I tried to serve multiple gods, it drove me crazy!

That’s like the most celebrated chef in the world trying to make a seven-course meal and serve it to eight different houses! Social media is designed to make you think slower!

They want to slow you down to control you! Right now, while these people on social media are complaining about who said what on a record, or who be doing what in the NBA and NFL, etc. But, right now, there is one in three African Americans in jail right now in this country.

Yet, we argue about who takes the knee and not what Jay-Z’s doing, there is one in three African Americans locked up in this country! What are you talking about because reality is here!” said Kanye West.

Daniel Koen said, I Love Kanye for always being himself and not molding to the game!” Kaylee Call also remarked, “I Love Kanye West. I can’t believe he is coming to Salt Lake City for Free!”

Sean Reyes said, “I am honored to bring him to Salt Lake City. Whirlwind Wednesday to Saturday, bringing a unique & amazing event to the 801. Powerful music, sermon & fellowship. Huge thanks to Kanye, Jon, Ona, the Choir & L.A. team for bringing so much love, spirit & joyful noise to Utah. Much love to C.J. & Tim Drisdom, Pastor Corey, & all the U.T. fam. Choir said they have never been treated better & will be back. Maybe next time in the Conference Center or Capitol.

I am so proud my press release made it into ABC, CBS, NBC, and FOX News and follow Soul Central Magazine T.V. and Radio for my full article coming out in October 2019 and Gorrilla Mafia Entertainment LLC Media!

Marco: Can you share a story about the funniest mistake you made when you were first starting? Can you tell us what lesson you learned from that?

Wow, great question! So, I was recording my interview with David Osmond, and as I got towards the end and asked him, “What is some good advice you would give to someone trying to follow in your footsteps? “He said, “Yeah, Have your camera recording!”

Thankfully it recorded everything till the last question. Also, Osmond was cool about it and not mad.

There was another cameraman there, so he kept recording, and we finished up the interview. Point is always stay focused, like a laser.

I should have had one of the batteries charging while the other was being used. Lesson learned and mistakes are way okay to make. Just don’t make the same one(s) over and over!

Marco: What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?

I just finished the First Soul Central Magazine International Awards Show in Las Vegas on May 24th and 25th, 2019! Floyd Mayweather and many more celebrities, CEOs, models, musicians, and many more showed up to support GoGlobalorStayLocalProject.org.

But most importantly, many hard-working ambassadors were awarded for their very appreciated dedication to their craft. Also, these individuals help build Soul Central into the international platform that it is!

I was so proud to not only win an award for my journalism. More so, ten people from the State of Utah took home trophies as well!

Currently, through Irie Coffee Teas and Bobas in Partnership with Smith’s Grocery Store #144, we hosted Showcase Your Causeplay With Gorrilla Mafia Media and Legacy League Productions. The showcase helped raise money for Primary Children’s’ Hospital.

We raised over $1,000 in 5 hours, which had taken 3 months to make that much, according to Human Resources Officer Adriane Douglas. We host Bi-monthly events at our restaurant located 3961 West 9000 South West Jordan Utah, where cause players can come to enjoy coffee and each other and help raise funds and awareness for charities.

We have been the official drink sponsor for Hinckley Dermatology Golf Scramble for Operation Underground Railroad, where we have helped raise $75,000 a year for the last three years in a row.

Marco: Who are some of the most interesting people you have interacted with? What was that like? Do you have any stories?

Mark Rowe, he changed my life! I am forever grateful for what he continually does in believing in me and my wife, Gwendolyn Allen Newhart. He gives us so much sage advice and hope for the future!

Also, Caskey407 of Cash Money Records who always show me a great time when he is in town! Love his bars and early songs of knowledge and profound truths not normally rapped about and art that he paints, positive posts on social media, and his poetry!

We will also be in a movie together premiering November 8th 2019.

Sean D Reyes Utah, State Attorney General, who has shown me nothing but love for the Cause Play Community and personally inviting me to Jackie Chan Day at the Utah State Capital. Also, Kanye West Sunday Service and so much more are a few of the most exciting people I’ve interacted with!

Marco: Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Rome was not built in a day! The most significant superpower you can have in being an entrepreneur or game-changer is to believe in yourself! Take care of yourself!

If you have four real friends, you are blessed! Do what you love, and after working eight hours for someone else, come home and work a few hours, more, and more till you can fire your boss! Be around people you want to be like!

Marco: You are a person of great influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be?

You never know what your idea can trigger. :-)

Through Gorrilla Mafia Media, Legacy League Productions, and Show Cause Your Cause Play. I also act as the chief talent officer for the #CYBERBYTE movement, an anti-cyberbullying movement started by internet attorney, Andrew Rossow.

The #CYBERBYTE movement brings Hollywood and Silicon Valley together, sharing tips and personal experiences these public figures have experienced in their journey, and how to stand up against online bullying.

It is so beautiful to experience the joy and light in their eyes, as they are sharing their personal message(s) on why it’s not okay to be a bully. Please follow the movement on Instagram — @cyber3yte, and using the #CYBERBYTE when posting.

Marco: What are your “5 things I wish someone told me when I first started” and why. Please share a story or example for each.

1. It costs money to make money! If you are not rich and want to build a company or empire, you will have to be miserable for a while if you are reinvesting everything back into yourself and not blowing money on stuff you don’t need.

2. Support local businesses like celebrities whom you don’t know! Don’t forget where you came from and stay humble and real because that’s what gets you success, real people want to work with real people!

3. Stay true to yourself! Ethics goes along way! Don’t try to impress others, just impress yourself!

4. Always try to do something positive each day, so when you look back, you have more happy memories than bad. Life can give you a lemon, but you can still make lemonade!

5. Never forget to love yourself and the ones that Love and Believe in you! Find love, and never let go!

Marco: Can you please give us your favorite “Life Lesson Quote”? Can you share how that was relevant to you in your life?

I don’t make mistakes; I make lessons! Even if I did it wrong, at least, I tried! I won’t have regrets because the ones that are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do!

Marco: None of us are able to achieve success without some help along the way. Is there a particular person who you are grateful towards who helped get you to where you are? Can you share a story about that?

My mom Debbie Oskowitz, my wife Gwendolyn Allen Newhart, and my dogs Samsun Newhart, Sucki Newhart, and Brandy Wine Newhart! It was not for them; I would not be the man I am today! They are my soulmates, and I am forever grateful for their love and support!

Marco: Some of the biggest names in Business, V.C. funding, Sports, and Entertainment read this column. Is there a person in the world, or in the U.S. whom you would love to have a private breakfast or lunch with, and why? He or she might see this. :-)

Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, or Gal Gadot! I grew up on Lil Wayne’s Mad Scientist lyrics since 1999, Gal Gadot for the Wonder Woman that she is in real life in visiting children at the hospital, and so much more! Nicki Minaj’s music has inspired me since she came into the music industry! Thank you, Nicki Minaj, for emailing me back and always being a robust female role model!
